What is Operation Smile?

Operation Smile is a worldwide children’s medical charity whose volunteers have treated more than 200,000 children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. The organization has a presence in 60 countries. In addition to contributing free medical treatment, Operation Smile trains local medical professionals in its partner countries and leaves behind crucial equipment to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency.

What is CSD SOS?

=Communication Sciences and Disorders Supports Operation Smile

We are a group of dedicated graduate students in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at the University of Western Ontario. As Speech-Language Pathology students, we understand the special challenges faced by children with cranio-facial anomalies living in developing countries, such as ear diseases, eating difficulties and improper speech development. We are committed to raising public awareness of and fundraising for Operation Smile. 100% of funds raised go directly to Operation Smile. Through donations, these children can have life transforming surgeries!

This year, CSD SOS is committed to raising enough money to fund 20 surgeries! This is equivalent to $4800 ($240/surgery).
